Book Lovers Day
I found this event on Instagram and instantly knew this was something I wanted to be part of! The event was held at a local Coffee Lounge spot where locals can come in, get some work done, meet up with friends and eat some good food. It was an early morning event focused on Children’s Book Lovers Day. The venue would later host an Adult Book Lovers event that evening.
When I arrived at the venue, I was greeted by one of the owners who was very warm and welcoming. She showed me where I could set up my book display table. My team (hubby and mom) and I went to work setting up. My table was filled of books and vibrant colors everywhere!
My book focuses on God's Rainbow after all 🌈 📚!
The owners had really outdone themselves! The back part of the Lounge was set up for the kiddies with spaces to draw and color and a couple of other activities including a scavenger hunt. They pulled out all the stops for the children to enjoy their day!
There was a total of 6 Children’s Authors at the event. I met an author who took her pain and turned it into beautiful stories celebrating life. I met another author who created stories and characters for his children, attempting to entertain them, during road trips. Another author created stories and characters based on his love for Jazz music. There was another author that created positive affirmation coloring books. And another that created bird characters based on family members teaching kids how to be kind to each other. I was surrounded by a great group of Children’s Book Authors and I loved every minute of it!
Throughout the day I engaged with kids and their parents showcasing my book and sharing what influenced me to write. There were so many great contacts and connections made at the event! I had a few customers that were interested in having me host an event at their church! I'm excited to see where that may lead!
In the end, we took pictures and videos. I even prayed over all the Authors as we gathered together holding hands. It was a beautiful event and I'm so glad that I got to be part of something so special!
I will definitely be back to visit Mix and Mingle Coffee Lounge as a guest to listen to some live entertainment and eat some really delicious food!
