I was scrolling on Facebook looking for events that would be a great fit for my Christian Children's Book, and found a flyer requesting vendors to register for an event that would donate all proceeds to their Food Pantry Ministry that feeds well over 700 people in the Palmer Park community weekly! This was definitely something I wanted to be part of. So I registered and became a vendor.
I started following Pastor Oliver Carter's No Limits Outreach page and realized how truly dedicated he and his ministry is in taking care of their community. I knew this would be a great event for me. Not just for the sales, but it was the fact that I would be collaborating with a team of people that love God's Word and doing what the Bible says, feed the hungry (Proverbs 22:9). I want to align myself with those who are doing things to glorify and edify God.
The day of the event came and it was a beautiful day for it! We arrived early, eager to set up and get the day started. I had all hands on deck for my 2nd vendor participation event. I had revamped my table and made it colorful and more appealing. My husband (who I fondly call Mr. Craney) was there to help me set up and helped me throughout the day. My mother was there who came to support me, and stayed throughout the entire event. Telling everyone how proud she is of me. "My daughter the Author" she tells everyone. I still can't get over the words. God is good! I prayed for God to give me a good support system during this journey. Those who would help me because I've never done anything like this before. And He sure has answered that prayer! Our son was also there and helped capture pictures and videos of the day and would later help edit and post videos to my social media platforms. What would we do without the younger generation and their knowledge of technology?? Lol!
Over all, it was a successful day! I had several conversations with people about my book, the inspiration behind it and highlighted a few key elements in the book. I got some great feedback and made some wonderful connections. I plan to follow up with the Children's Ministry Director to see how my first book can be incorporated into Sunday School. How awesome would that be?
Stay Tuned and Happy Reading!
